Designed and built to the highest professional specifications by Recording Architecture, Westpoint originally opened in 1994 as a private studio for producers Yoshi Terashima and Gota Yashiki.
Westpoint soon gained a reputation as London's best kept secret – a professionally built private studio with great sounding rooms and a huge collection of classic instruments, amplifiers, microphones and outboard.
The demand for such a unique recording environment soon became clear and gradually Westpoint began opening it's doors to a select few commercial sessions, including projects for Jamiroquai, The Divine Comedy, Simply Red as well as the Romeo & Juliet motion picture soundtrack.
Now in 2007, we are pleased to announce that Westpoint is available to book as a fully commercial studio.
Much of the legacy of our past remains and today the studio still retains a distinctly private feel. By offering a comfortable, self-contained space, we are able to provide a creative environment that is truly conducive to making music. Underlying this relaxed atmosphere is a professional team providing world-class support and engineering services.
Westpoint has one of the finest collections of recording equipment in London. Our philosophy towards analogue technology is based on the simple premise that well-designed equipment, that is hand-wired and hand-built by true craftsmen, consistently offers the greatest sound quality.
This is exemplified by our vintage Neve console. Custom built for the BBC in 1970, this console epitomizes the unique sound quality and character associated with bespoke recording equipment from this era.
Our devotion to classic, hand-crafted equipment does not end there. Our racks are filled with an esoteric array of vintage and boutique outboard, complimented by some of the finest microphones ever made.
We have also retained our large collection of classic instruments and amplifiers and in doing so, have set ourselves apart from the crowd by offering not only the best means to record music but also the best instruments with which to create it.
Not content to simply dwell in the past, we are also committed to the future and have assembled a collection of recording equipment that reflects the innovations of both the past and present. True to form, Westpoint is equipped with a powerful Pro Tools HD3 system providing 48 outputs, 40 inputs and a massive amount of processing power.
Our clients can also benefit from our off-street parking area, wireless broadband, lounge area and kitchen. There is also a beautiful park nearby and a fantastic variety of restaurants and takeaways to choose from.
